Summary of the Student Skills Development Camp Program: The Iraqi University – Scholarships Department/Student Exchange Unit organized a Student Skills Development Camp from October 5th to 9th, 2025, with the participation of several Iraqi universities, including the University of Halabja, the University of Tikrit, and Al-Maarif University. This activity was part of the university's efforts to enhance academic cooperation and develop students' skills according to international standards. The camp lasted for five consecutive days and included intensive training programs and diverse interactive activities.
Program objectives:
• The camp provided outstanding students with an opportunity to acquire diverse skills within a shared university environment.
• Enhance students' skills in English language, communication, and teamwork.
• Contributed to raising academic motivation and improving students' readiness for testing and assessment processes.
• It strengthened cooperation and exchange of experiences among participating students from Iraqi universities, especially the universities participating in this session.
• Prepare students for future participation in international exchange programs, particularly European implementation mechanisms such as Erasmus+.
• Five outstanding students were selected from each participating university according to strict academic criteria, taking into account their good English language skills.
• The host university provided accommodation and full logistical support throughout the camp.
• The program was implemented on a rotating basis between universities with the aim of expanding participation to include universities from different governorates.
• The camp included training workshops, skills development sessions, interactive activities, and informational programs about international scholarship opportunities and application mechanisms for exchange programs outside Iraq.
• The participants stressed the need to form a joint committee that includes representatives from the missions departments and Erasmus+ program officials in Iraqi universities.
• The program recommended signing memoranda of understanding to ensure the continuity of cooperation and the development of future versions of the camp.
