Duties and Responsibilities of the Scientific Affairs Department
- To develop criteria for honoring distinguished researchers at the university.
- To approve authored and translated scientific books as recognized academic references.
- To circulate the approved system for the scientific research plan and for scientific research (planned, completed, and published).
- To prepare the scientific research plan for all university formations and follow up on its implementation.
- To issue official endorsements for participation in conferences, seminars, and workshops.
- To encourage and motivate academic and research staff to enhance the level of research performance at the university.
- To follow up on the registration of researchers in international scientific electronic portals.
- To organize general and specialized exhibitions of scientific outputs and to prepare minutes of meetings for committees related to the department’s work.
- To prepare studies and provide recommendations aimed at developing the process of scientific research and publication at the university.
- To develop creative scientific activities at the university, standardize the documentation of data for all scientific activities, and follow up on and circulate their results to ensure maximum possible benefit.
- To follow up on researchers’ registration for scientific awards, raise awareness of their importance, and maintain continuous communication with them to inform them of the latest updates, as well as oversee the process of honoring researchers by the university, including follow-up on the Iraqi Science Day Award.
- To inform researchers of the Ministry’s circulars related to research and to submit proposed projects to the Research and Development Department.
- To follow up on the plans and accomplishments of research units and research centers, as well as their annual plans.
